Description

Hire A TENS Machine to Ease The Pain Of Labour:

You can achieve an easier less painful labour without drugs using TENS. Our TENS machines for hire are Obstetric-specific TENS specifically for use in childbirth with a BOOST button for additional pain control. TENS stimulates nerves via self-adhesive pads, releasing endorphins and disrupting the pain signal to the brain, effectively reducing the sensation from your contractions. Each hire customer receives a brand new set of electrodes with self-adhesive pads for their own personal use.

TENS can be used in conjunction with other pain relief techniques during labour – it has been used effectively with acupressure, movement and heat packs, and you can use it with the gas and pethedine as well.

Just $49.95 to hire and $18 delivery (includes postage-paid return at the end of your hire)

TENS Info Sheet

TENS Info Sheet

TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. TENS produces electrical signals to stimulate nerves via self-adhesive pads. This releases endorphins, and disrupts the pain signal to the brain, effectively reducing the pain sensation.

TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) works by passing mild electrical impulses through the skin, via electrode pads, into the nerve fibres which lie below. The TENS impulses help your body produce its own pain killing chemicals, such as ‘endorphins’. Our Obstetric TENS have a BOOST Button feature to be used during contractions.

The level of pain relief obtained varies from person to person. Some find that using TENS during childbirth provides all the pain relief required during the whole of labour, whereas others find that other analgesics are also required. A Swedish study showed that TENS was the only pain killer required by 70% of women in labour.

Your hire is for 6 weeks and we suggest that your TENS be booked for you to be with you when you’re 37 weeks pregnant.
